Registrations Explained

Our team is fielding a lot of enquiries about registrations and the difference between the winter season and Academy.

We’ve answered the most popular ones below, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further information.

Winter Registration

  • Registration is for the entire winter season (Term 2 and Term 3)
  • Junior and Youth players will be put in teams by the club once registrations close and musters completed.
  • Junior and Youth have weekly training sessions – the day and time are determined be each teams’ coach and manager.
  • Junior and Youth play Saturday.
  • First Kicks train / play Friday night.
  • Players must provide their own boots and shin pads, as well as Oratia United shorts and socks which can be purchased from our online shop. The club provides the playing shirt which is on loan to you for the season.

Academy Registration

  • Run by Oratia’s Director of Football.
  • Registration is on a term-by-term basis.
  • Weekly skills-based training programme.
  • We do not hold trials for the Academy programme.
  • Academy registration does NOT put you in a team to play winter football. Winter football requires a separate registration. www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/220110
  • Players must provide their own boots and shin pads. They are provided with an Academy uniform of shorts, socks and a shirt.
  • Players can participate in the Academy programme AND the Winter competition if they wish/if it doesn't clash with their Winter team training.
